Gameplay

LEGO Marvels Avengers plays much like its predecessors, with players controlling one or more characters from the game's massive roster through side-scrolling action levels filled with hordes of enemies. Combat is simple yet satisfyingly rewarding; mashing buttons will dispatch most foes in a few hits, but there are also some neat special moves that can be triggered by pressing down on the trigger stick at precisely the right moment.

Graphically speaking, LEGO Marvels Avengers looks like what you'd expect from an HD remaster of last generation's console games. The character models and environments have been given a lovingly pixelated makeover to match their source material, but they don't quite hold up against modern standards when viewed close-up - think blocky textures and jagged edges galore.

Story Mode

The story mode follows the traditional LEGO formula: collect all 15 playable characters (each with unique abilities), complete each level without dying too many times to unlock new areas within Story Mode itself! It's more of a series' greatest hits compilation rather than anything particularly original though - you'll fight through boss battles against familiar faces like Thanos while also collecting hidden items along the way.

Multiplayer
